Noa Louv // Alternatives of Being
Fashion is forever bound to the body and vice versa. While naked, clothes are present in their absence. Within the duty to dress the first seed of shame can already be found, an emotion inseparable from life in a human body. The project explores the complicated relationship we have with our materiality. It aims to express a desire to transcend beyond the body.
The collection alienates the body by treating it as an empty shell. The use of space emphasizes the immaterial. The abstraction is an invitation to irrationality. Delicate materials were chosen such as silk chiffon, mohair wool and ostrich feathers. In contrast there’s a use of leather and 3D printing. The outcome is a conceptual collection meant for all genders with a proposal to reject what is taken for granted.

העיסוק באופנה כבול לנצח אל גוף האדם, גוף האדם כבול אל הבגד ונתפס ביחס אליו, בעירום נוכח הבגד בהיעדרו. הפרויקט מהווה בחינה של מערכת היחסים המורכבת בין האדם לעצם נוכחותו הגשמית ומטרתו להביע כמיהה להתעלות מעל מצב זה ולערער עליו.
הקולקציה מבצעת הזרה של הגוף והצגתו כקליפה. ישנה התייחסות אל חלל כחומר אשר מנכיחה את מה שאין לו ממשות. טשטוש גבולות ובחירה במופשט מזמינים לדמיין את מה שאינו רציונאלי. ביצירת הדגמים נעשה שימוש בחומרים קלילים ועדינים כמו שיפון משי, צמר מוהייר ונוצות יען ולעומתם עומדים חומרים אטומים ונוקשים כמו עור פרה ואלמנטים פיסוליים שהודפסו בתלת מימד. התוצאה היא קולקציה קונספטואלית ואוונגארדית אשר פונה לכל מגדר ומבקשת לדחות, גם אם לרגע בלבד, את המובן מאליו.
