Maya Aharon // Comfort zone

 

My final project highlights the uniqueness of Tel Aviv’s beach and boardwalk in this bustling and crowded city.

During daily life, we try to hide our deficiencies and shortcomings - physical and psychological. However, at the beach, we forget about these and start acting completely differently and loosely.

For me, Tel Aviv’s beach is a place to pause and disconnect from my daily routine and challenges, a place where I relax and take off our guardrails.

Going to the beach brings relaxation on one hand, but can be awkward on the other hand with the equipment, clothing layers and walking on the sand.

The RTW unisex collection enhances the bright colors and unique textures created by the bright sunlight and shadow, and the contrast of intense colors in this space and the white neutral sand.

The collection consists of light contrasting materials, natural fabrics suitable for the local summer season vs the synthetic materials of the swimwear world, combined with towels and ropes that characterize marine equipment.
