Self-censorship. A Censorship which is a result of the search and study of the enigma of human nature - uncensored, wild, and untamed. The “other self”, alter ego, the" dirty " soul in the polished body.

The inspiration for the project came from my life experiences growing up in a traditional home where sexuality is taboo. Art was used as an” excuse “to explore dark, sexual, blunt, and provocative worlds. 

The project draws inspiration from the worlds of photography, art, and fetishism. Referring to artists such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Gaspar Noe and more.

Although the collection consists of genderless clothing; I use male models to showcase the outfits as men’s sexuality is culturally more restrictive yet intriguing to the female gaze. The designs are avant-garde, giving emphasis on silhouettes, volumes, and shapes. The colour palette is dramatic, dark and contrasting. The collection presents a combination of materials- leather, metal, plastic, etc.
