To exist is to possess identities.

Being born in Golan Heights makes my identity “LAISSEZPASSER-UNDEFINED”. The neologism “Undefined” alluded to a geopolitical terrain defined by what it’s not. Its identification consists of negating, no acts of defining, but of wiping out. Just like the prefix Un turned my homeland into “UNDEFINED-LAND'. Shifting its connotations of belonging into a place of displacement.

standing by the borders gives a feel of organic connection between the lands, appears in my collection by sculpted huge knots in loop shapes and loose ends. Landscape resemblance brings symmetry. Identical connected sleeves echoing scenes from the “Valley of Tears” where families shouted one to another after borders were set.

Identity becomes something beyond countries, shaped into a behaviour- to find a way to connect beyond any forced fence.  In my collection I search of the same feel of connection people in home achieved, to connect and belong.

LAISSEZPASSER // פארס בטחיש

 

להתקיים זה להחזיק זהויות. 

לידה ברמת הגולן הופכת את הזהות שלי ל" LAISSEZPASSER-Undefined".

הניאולוגיזם "לא מוגדר" רומז לשטח גיאופוליטי המוגדר על ידי מה שהוא לא.

הזיהוי שלו מורכב משלילה, לא מעשים של הגדרה, אלא של מחיקה. בדיוק כמו הקידומת Un הפכה את המולדת שלי ל-"UNDEFINED-LAND". מעבירה איתה הקונוטציות של שייכות למקום של עקירה.  

לעמוד ליד הגבולות נותן תחושה של חיבור אורגני בין שתי האדמות, וזה מורגש בקולקציה דרך קשרים ענקיים מפוסלים בצורות לולאות וקצוות רופפים. הנוף מיוצג דרך סימטריה. שרוולים מחוברים זהים מזכירים סצנות מ"עמק הדמעות" שבו משפחות צעקו אחת לשניה לאחר קביעת הגבולות.

כך הזהות הופכת למשהו שהו מעבר למדינות, לדבר שמעצב התנהגות – למצוא דרך חילופית להתחבר מעבר לכל גדר כפויה.  בקולקציה שלי אני מחפש את אותה תחושת חיבור שהשיגו אנשים בבית, להתחבר ולהשתייך.
